Savannah Beach Inn is located in the Fort Screven National
Historic District (on the National
Register) and once housed an officer and his family at Fort Screven. The
inn is situated on a bluff known as Officers Row with a great view of
the Atlantic. It features a huge wrap around porch, ornate tin ceilings,
and a uniquely designed period kitchen that is a favorite gathering
place for guests.
Tybee Island is the perfect vacation spot
for both seafarers and land lovers. Its proximity to the beach and to
Savannah offers a lot of possibilities for historic sightseeing, water sports,
sunbathing and enjoying native seafood at one of Tybee's great restaurants. The Tybee Historic Society has a museum nearby and the Lighthouse is on tour.
The Inn features 5 rooms with private bath,
phone, cable TV & DSL modem. Our most popular room is the Marshall Suite on the
third floor. It features a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the entrance
to the Savannah Harbor, king size bed, vaulted ceilings and a view of the Tybee
Lighthouse.
A delicious full breakfast is served every
morning in our kitchen fashioned after a turn-of-the-century lunch counter or on
the wrap around porch watching the ships go by or in a breakfast basket for the
beach! You will also enjoy an evening wine & cheese reception during your stay
with us. At bedtime fresh baked cookies and milk await you after a romantic stroll by
the sea.
Note for pet lovers: Sorry, no pets. Pets are not
allowed on Tybee beach!
